Welcome!

Friends of Oscar-Zero is a group within North Dakota's Griggs County Historical Society. The primary mission of Friends of Oscar-Zero is to support and promote North Dakota's

Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site.

It is located north of Cooperstown. The site is owned and operated by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.

We are also helping to support the Northern Plains Cold War Interpretive Center.  It is located in one of the building at the Griggs County Museum site.

The Friends also help visitors find great food, lodging and memorable activities. Finally, we want to help people learn about the Cold War. Oscar-Zero is the military designation of this facility. The National Register of Historic Sites terms it "Oscar-Zero Missile Alert Facility."

Have a thoughtful time as you tour a part of our atomic history, which - thankfully - never was used. Air Force missileers often quote George Washington:

"To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."
